HEATHER RAE, INHC
Health History & Consult
90 min $125
My practice is a collaborative effort with my clients, and it is based on three key principles:
the body and mind are designed to self-heal if given the right tools and information: an unobstructed spine, a balanced autonomic nervous system, a diverse microbiome, proper nutrients, gut integrity, and toxin reduction;
there is no one diet, no one exercise, treatment or supplement that fits all, since everyone is biochemically and genetically unique with an our own birth story, stress, family heritage, lifestyle ... and myriad epi-genetic expressions;
the mind-body-spirit connection, and a bond to the earth and community, are essential for health and vitality.
In your first consult we will discuss your health concerns, health history, and life goals. This meeting is an opportunity to explore the root causes of your health conditions from an eye-opening perspective entirely different from that of standard-of-care allopathic (symptoms-based) disease management.
My practice is informed heavily by chiropractic, naturopathic, environmental, genetic, personal, and energetic medicine. Please ask me any questions you may have about those disciplines and functional health coaching!
If you are comfortable with me and my approach, and what you believe we can accomplish together, the next step is the personalized wellness coaching program with genetic variant analysis. If you choose not to 'coach' with me you will still receive copies of your lab test reports.
Self-directed Lab Testing
Genetic Nutrition Variant Test: $199
Organic Acid Tests (varied costs)
Great Plains OAT: $299 - $358
Metametrix/Genova Organix: $325 - $380
Laboratory tests contribute immensely to our work together. They include a genetic variant test and an organic acids test. A mycotoxin (mold immunoglobulin) test is recommended.
You will order the genetic variant test through me (it is fulfilled by a lab at Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA in coordination with Thermo Fisher Scientific and Nutri-Genetic Research Institute.)
You will order the other tests on your own through one of several online lab test services, such as MyMedLab. There are two labs offering organic acid tests: Metametrix/Genova, and Great Plains Labs.
We are not looking for disease, nor are we addressing disease; instead, we are looking at how well your body functions at the cellular level, unfolding a cutting-edge new world of health data unique to you.
This data indicates how well you are able to use nutrients, and how well you are able to expel wastes (detoxify) from natural metabolism and exogenous influences like electromagnetic frequencies, pollutants in our air, pesticides in our food, and mycotoxins in our living spaces (to name just a few of many).
You will need the results of these two tests to fully participate in the personalized wellness coaching program.
You will receive a high-level report of findings.
Coaching Program with
Genetic Nutrition Analysis
6 sessions $600
The personalized wellness care program consists of three months of bi-weekly, 50-minute sessions. The objective of the program is to identify the environment and information unique to you, and to help you use that information to make changes in your life to reach the goals set during the health history consult.
During these three months, you will have regular access to me to discuss your progress and pitfalls. My role is sounding board, mentor, teacher, advocate, champion and researcher ... to support you as you make changes in your diet and lifestyle.
I will also work with you as you evaluate the many influences on your overall well-being. Those influences can be relationships, work, physical environment, exercise, and beliefs.
While waiting for testing results, we begin to heal the gut, the integrity of the endothelial lining ("leaky gut"), gut micriobiome diversity and key elements of biochemical balance (the RBTI tests which can be done by you at home).
We will be looking at habits and dig deep into potential underlying root causes of your health concerns, exploring test results, and signs and symptoms questionnaires, and your progress in making changes based on those findings.
Your online questionnaire and the results of the genetic test and the organic acids test will be loaded into a secure, HIPAA-compliant software created by NutriGenetic Research Institute.
The software is a guide to deficiencies in your ability to use nutrients and eliminate toxic waste. It also suggests supplements for deficiencies that contribute to ill-health.
You will receive a detailed report, based on this sample report. These reports take a lot of time to research and write, and reflect my best analysis of your situation, in the evolving science of genomics and epi-genetics..
"We are taught in functional medicine, the gut is the most important area that needs to be treated first ... you won't be able to fix that biome until you fix the mold, because it's triggering the
Cell Danger Response."
You will receive additional resources based on your individual situation and interest. These resources cover the gamut of the structural, chemical and emotional/spiritual stresses that influence health and well-being ... also called epigenetics! Not everyone in this list agrees with everyone else. Oh, the fun!

The Functional Genomic Pyramid
We begin with the foundation: inflammation and oxidative stress, and work up to methylation (MTHFR). Supplementing for MTHFR can backfire if this foundation is not addressed first!
Enzymes (genes), environmental toxins, and beneficial compounds, all play a role in inflammation and oxidative stress. No one element is solely responsible for chronic health conditions.
EpiGenetics: Genes (enzymes) are given the nutritional support they need to function well using dietary changes and personalized blends of vitamins, minerals, botanicals, and adaptogens.
a powerful oxidant!
Health conditions* can trace back to nitric oxide: variants in enzymes (genes) and environmental toxins can wind up making the damaging molecule called peroxynitrite instead of nitric oxide (NO)
* neurodegenerative disorders, myocardial infarction, chronic heart failure, stroke, diabetes, circulatory shock, cancer, chronic inflammatory conditions
RBTI is the abbreviated term for Reams Biological Theory of Ionization. RBTI is a working explanation about the fundamental ionic energy composition and function of biological life. This theory was discovered, developed and proven through the unique work of agronomist, biochemist and mathematician, Dr. Carey A. Reams, beginning in the 1930's.
RBTI testing is a non-invasive seven part test completed on fresh samples of urine and saliva. There are six tests done on the urine sample: total carbohydrate, pH, conductivity, cell debris, nitrate nitrogen and ammonia nitrogen. Saliva is measured for pH.
The RBTI is a real-time mathematical analysis of what is taking place within the electro-biochemical structure of the human body. It reveals the intricate cause and effect of the physiological dysfunctional patterns demonstrated through the urine and saliva analysis.
The purpose of RBTI is to analyze and identify previously unrecognized electro-biochemical dysfunctions taking place within the human body, thereby allowing the creation of a perfect set of personal life-style recommendations that will address and reverse those unrecognized dysfunctional patterns.
You may purchase RBTI test equipment and test strips to monitor your own levels at home or work with an RBTI functional nutritionist.
